What gold we buy
Gold jewellery
Rings, chains, bracelets, earrings and brooches in 9ct, 14ct, 18ct and 22ct. Broken, single or unfashionable pieces are worth exactly the same per gram as wearable ones.
Gold coins
Sovereigns, Krugerrands, Britannias and other bullion coins, priced against the live London market. Rare or collectable coins are flagged rather than melted.
Scrap and unhallmarked gold
Dental gold, watch cases, odd findings and anything unmarked. The XRF result tells us what it is; a missing hallmark never blocks a deal.
Gold bars
Cast and minted bars of any brand and size. Message us first for anything over the postal insurance limit and we agree the safest way to send it.

What is a Bosca Óir?
Bosca Óir is Irish for “gold box”. It is our free, insured postal pack: a box we post to your door with a prepaid return label already inside, so you can sell gold, silver and jewellery from anywhere in Ireland without leaving the house. Nothing to pay, nothing to arrange, and no obligation to sell.

- A sturdy box with a prepaid, tracked An Post return label already inside. Put your items in, seal it and drop it at any post office. The box is yours to keep.
- What it costs
- Nothing. The box is free, the return post is prepaid, and if you decline our price your items come back to you free as well. There are no deductions from your payment.
- Who carries the risk
- We do. From the moment the post office scans your parcel it travels at our risk, up to €2,000 of items per box. Worth more than that? Message us first and we arrange collection or a visit.
- Where we post
- Anywhere in the Republic of Ireland. Over a kilo of silver, tell us in the form and we send a bigger box. From Northern Ireland or the rest of the EU there is no pack: WhatsApp us for a quote and post to Dublin yourself, insured.
- Follow it
- Every box has its own number and its own tracking page, so you can see exactly where it is at every stage, from the day we post it to the day you are paid.

Fill and seal
Put your items in the box, wrapped so they do not knock together. Seal it and stick on the prepaid label from inside.

Post it
Drop it at any post office and keep your proof of postage. From the first scan it travels at our risk.

Opened on camera
We open, weigh and XRF test everything on camera. The video is yours within 24 hours.

Your price
You get an itemised offer at the prices published on this site, fixed at the moment you accept.

Paid or returned
Accept and you are paid by bank transfer. Decline and everything comes back to you, return post free.

How much do you pay for gold in Ireland?
Our prices track the live London spot price and the fineness of your item. The exact price per gram for 9ct, 14ct, 18ct, 22ct and 24ct gold is published on this page, refreshed through the day. There are no testing fees or hidden deductions.
Can I sell gold that has no hallmark?
Yes. Every item is tested on an XRF analyser, so a missing hallmark does not stop a deal. Broken, foreign-marked and unhallmarked gold is priced on its actual composition.
Do you buy gold coins and bars?
Yes. Sovereigns, Krugerrands, Britannias and other bullion coins and bars are bought against the live London price. Collectable coins can be worth more than melt, and we tell you when that is the case.
How and when am I paid?
By bank transfer, the same day you accept the offer. The price is fixed at the moment you accept.
What do I need to sell gold?
One valid photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence. We do not buy from anyone under 18.
Do you buy gold outside Dublin?
Yes, from all 32 counties and every EU country. In the Republic of Ireland the Bosca Óir is posted to your door, you post it back from your local post office, insured and prepaid, and it is opened on camera in Dublin. From Northern Ireland or the rest of the EU, WhatsApp us for a quote and post to Dublin yourself, insured and tracked; there are no customs forms inside the EU. The price per gram is the same in Cork, Belfast or Berlin as it is at our Dublin counter.
