How are your prices set?
Every buy price is the live London spot price, multiplied by the fineness of the metal, multiplied by our published payout rate: 85 percent of melt value for gold and 65 percent for silver. 9ct gold is 37.5 percent fine, sterling silver is 92.5 percent fine, and so on. The full table is on our prices page and updates every minute. There are no testing fees or handling charges.
Do I need ID to sell?
Yes. You need one valid photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence. We record it with the transaction, in line with anti-money-laundering practice. We do not buy from anyone under 18.
How will I be paid?
By bank transfer, sent the same day you accept the offer. We do not pay in cash.
How does the testing work?
We use XRF, which stands for X-ray fluorescence. The analyser reads the elemental composition of the metal at the surface without damaging the item. It takes seconds per piece and is done in front of you, so you see the result before we talk numbers.
Do items need to be hallmarked?
No. Unhallmarked, broken and foreign-marked items are all fine. The XRF result tells us what the metal is, so a missing hallmark does not stop a deal, although hallmarked items are quicker to process.
What do you not buy?
We do not buy gold-plated, rolled gold or costume pieces for more than their actual metal content, which is usually negligible, and we will tell you that honestly rather than make a token offer. We do not buy items where we have any doubt that the seller owns them.
What about gemstones?
Our price is for the metal only. Stones are weighed out of the calculation where practical. If a stone looks significant we will say so and suggest you have it assessed separately before selling the piece as scrap.
Is there a minimum quantity?
No. A single ring is as welcome as a full estate clearance. For business quantities, see our business page for clearance and refining terms.
Do I need an appointment?
Yes, appointments in Dublin are arranged by email or WhatsApp. That way your items are tested and priced without waiting.
Are the prices on this site exactly what I will receive?
Prices shown are indicative ahead of our opening in [Month 2027]. When we open, deals are fixed at the moment you accept, using the live London price and the published payout rates.
