Selling from Northern Ireland, question by question
Do you buy gold and silver from Northern Ireland?
Yes, from all six counties, at the same published prices as the rest of the island. You WhatsApp us for a quote, post your items to our Dublin PO box by tracked and insured post, and the weighing, testing and offer all happen on camera; you see the video before you decide anything.
Can I get a free Bosca Óir postal pack in Northern Ireland?
No. The free insured Bosca Óir is for addresses in the Republic of Ireland only. From Northern Ireland you message us on WhatsApp for a quote first, then post your items to our Dublin PO box yourself, tracked and insured.
Is my parcel insured on the way from Northern Ireland?
Not by us. A parcel posted from Northern Ireland travels at your own risk until it reaches our PO box, so use tracked and insured post (Royal Mail Special Delivery or similar) and insure it for what the items are worth. Message us first about anything valuable and we agree the safest way to send it.
Are there customs forms on a parcel from Northern Ireland to Dublin?
No. Goods move between Northern Ireland and the Republic without customs formalities, so a parcel from Belfast or Derry to Dublin is posted like any other, and there is no duty or import VAT on it.
How long does it take from Belfast or Derry?
Tracked post from Northern Ireland to Dublin usually takes a few working days. We open it on camera within 24 hours of arrival and your offer follows the same day.
Is the price the same in Northern Ireland as in Dublin?
Yes. There is one published price list for all 32 counties, priced per gram in euro off the live London market and refreshed through the day. There is no testing fee and no handling charge, wherever the parcel comes from.
How am I paid in Northern Ireland?
By bank transfer in euro, the same day you accept the offer. To a sterling account your bank converts the euro at its own rate; a euro account, if you have one, avoids that. Photo ID is checked before payment.
Do you buy from Great Britain too?
Not at the moment. We buy from Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and every other EU member state. If you are in England, Scotland or Wales, we are not able to take your parcel for now.
Can I sell jewellery with the stones still in?
Yes. Send the piece as it is. We weigh and test the metal with the stones excluded and pay the published per-gram rate for it. Stones are assessed separately: we quote for them or return them to you. Send any certificate or valuation for the stones in with the piece. It travels with it and comes back with it if you decline.
Every county on the island
The same prices and the same camera from all 32 counties. In the Republic of Ireland the free Bosca Óir comes to your door; from Northern Ireland you post to our Dublin PO box. Elsewhere in the EU, the same arrangement applies.
