The hallmark is the small number stamped inside the piece. Lower carats cost more to refine per euro of gold, so the price per gram reflects that. Knives are weighed whole and pay half the rate for their grade: the blade is steel and the handle is filled.

Net price per gram of the item as weighed, priced off the live London market and the hallmark fineness. No testing or handling fees. The price shown is the price paid, fixed at the moment you accept. Postal sales only: 12 euro return postage at cost is deducted if you sell, waived when the melt value of the parcel is over 500 euro. Nothing is deducted if you decline; items are returned free.

Request the free pack
Request a free postal pack or prepaid label at liffeymetals.com/sell/post. Gold worth 300 euro to 2,000 euro goes straight through; silver, mixed lots (gold and silver together), platinum, bullion coins and bars, lots worth more than 2,000 euro start with a WhatsApp message so the right packaging and cover go out.

Post it
Pack the items, hand the parcel in at any post office and keep the receipt. With our prepaid label it travels at our risk up to 2,000 euro per parcel from the moment tracking shows it accepted.

Tested on camera
Every item is weighed and XRF tested on camera and priced at the published rate on the day it is tested. You get an itemised offer, open for 48 hours, and the video.

Paid or returned
Accept and you are paid by bank transfer the same day. Decline and everything is returned free by tracked post; if we hear nothing after 30 days we return the items anyway.
The rules, in one line each
- Postal minimum: 300 euro in total value per parcel. Below that, message us on WhatsApp for the best route.
- Postal maximum: 2,000 euro per parcel, which is the insured limit. Larger lots are arranged on WhatsApp; lots worth more than 1,000 euro can be brought to Dublin in person by appointment.
- WhatsApp first: silver; mixed lots (gold and silver together); platinum; bullion coins and bars; lots worth more than 2,000 euro.
- Deductions: none on the price. Postal sales only: 12 euro return postage at cost if you sell, waived when the parcel's melt value is over 500 euro. Nothing if you decline.
- Payout: bank transfer the same day you accept, no cash. The offer stays open 48 hours.
- ID: one valid photo ID is checked before payment, never posted. We do not buy from anyone under 18.
