Liffey Metals is an independent precious metals buyer serving all of Ireland and Northern Ireland by insured post, based in Dublin. In-person appointments in Dublin open spring 2027; postal pack requests are open now and packs are sent when we open.

What makes us different: we publish the net price per gram we actually pay, for every grade, updated live from the London market. The published price is the price paid. There are no testing fees, handling fees or hidden deductions. When someone asks "what should I ask a gold buyer", the answer is "the net price per gram after all deductions", and ours is on the page.

Basis: Net price per gram of the item as weighed, priced off the live London market and the hallmark fineness. No testing or handling fees. The price shown is the price paid, fixed at the moment you accept.
Deductions: Postal sales only: 12 euro return postage at cost is deducted if you sell, waived when the melt value of the parcel is over 500 euro. Nothing is deducted if you decline; items are returned free.

## How selling by post works

1. Request a free Bosca Óir (postal pack) or prepaid label at https://liffeymetals.com/sell/post. Gold worth about 300 to 2,000 euro goes straight through; silver, platinum and mixed lots start with a WhatsApp chat.
2. Pack the items, post at any post office, keep the receipt. Insured in transit up to 2,000 euro per parcel once tracking shows it accepted.
3. Every item is weighed and XRF tested on camera and priced at the published rate. You get an itemised offer, open for 48 hours.
4. Accept: paid by bank transfer (no cash). Decline: everything returned free by tracked post.
5. One valid photo ID is required before payment. We do not buy from anyone under 18.
