Post your items to us in Dublin from Germany
Post your items to us in Dublin (sent at your own risk, insured and tracked; no customs forms inside the EU).
The free insured Bosca Óir postal pack is for addresses in the Republic of Ireland only, so from Germany you post to us directly. Message us on WhatsApp first with a photo or two and what you think the items are: you get an indicative figure off today's prices and the Dublin address before you post anything, and we agree the safest way to send it.
We give you the Dublin address with your quote on WhatsApp, along with the best way to send what you have from Germany.
How it works from Germany
Step 1
WhatsApp us for a quote first
Send a photo or two and a line about what you have. We reply with an indicative figure off today's prices and the Dublin address, and agree the safest way to send anything valuable.
Step 2
Pack it well
Wrap the items so they do not knock together, add any box, certificate or receipt that goes with them, and put nothing on the outside that says what is inside. No customs declaration is needed: Germany and Ireland are both in the EU.
Step 3
Post it from Berlin
Use an insured, tracked service from Deutsche Post / DHL or a courier, insured for what the items are worth, and keep the receipt. The parcel is at your own risk until it reaches us, so send us the tracking number on WhatsApp. Allow two to four working days to Dublin.
Step 4
Opened on camera in Dublin, then paid
We open it on camera in Dublin, weigh and XRF test every piece, and send you the video with an itemised offer. Accept and you are paid in euro by SEPA transfer the same day; decline and everything comes back to you in Germany by tracked and insured post.
German gold and silver
Germany has no compulsory hallmark, so German gold usually carries just the fineness: 333 (8ct), 585 (14ct) or 750 (18ct). 333 is the everyday German standard and is below anything sold as gold in Ireland or Britain; we buy it, priced on its actual fineness from the XRF reading, rather than turning it away.
Everything from Germany is done by post, and the price is the same as at our Dublin counter. If you are travelling to Ireland with a lot worth more than €1,000, you are welcome to book an appointment in Dublin and watch the testing; nothing about the price or the testing changes by post.

Sell jewellerySelling from Germany, question by question
Can I sell gold or silver from Germany to a buyer in Ireland?
Yes. Both countries are in the EU single market, so a parcel from Germany to Dublin travels like a domestic one: no customs declaration, no duty, no import VAT. You WhatsApp us for a quote, post the items insured, and the weighing, testing and offer all happen on camera in Dublin; you see the video before you decide anything.
Can I get a free Bosca Óir postal pack in Germany?
No. The free insured Bosca Óir is for addresses in the Republic of Ireland only. From Germany you message us on WhatsApp for a quote first, then post your items to us in Dublin yourself, insured and tracked.
Is my parcel insured on the way from Germany?
Not by us. A parcel posted from Germany travels at your own risk until it reaches us, so use an insured, tracked service (Deutsche Post / DHL's insured parcel service, or a courier such as DHL, UPS or FedEx) and insure it for what the items are worth. Message us first about anything valuable and we agree the safest way to send it.
How long does it take from Germany?
Tracked post from Germany to Dublin usually takes two to four working days. We open it on camera within 24 hours of arrival and your offer follows the same day.
Is the price the same in Germany as in Ireland?
Yes. There is one published price list for Ireland and the whole EU, priced per gram off the live London market and refreshed through the day. There is no testing fee and no handling charge, wherever the parcel comes from.
How am I paid in Germany?
Paid in euro by SEPA bank transfer to your IBAN the same day you accept; Germany uses the euro, so there is nothing to convert.
Do you buy German gold that is not hallmarked, or marked differently from Irish gold?
Yes. Unmarked, foreign-marked and broken pieces are all fine; the XRF reading, not the stamp, sets the grade and the price.
Can I sell jewellery with the stones still in from Germany?
Yes. Send the piece as it is. We weigh and test the metal with the stones excluded and pay the published per-gram rate for it. Stones are assessed separately: we quote for them or return them to you. Send any certificate or valuation for the stones in with the piece. It travels with it and comes back with it if you decline.
What ID do I need to sell from Germany?
One valid photo ID: a passport or a national identity card from any EU country is fine, or a driving licence. We check it before payment, in line with anti-money-laundering practice, and we do not buy from anyone under 18.
Do I need to speak English?
We work in English on WhatsApp, but photos and a short line about what you have are enough to start, and a translation app on either side is fine. Numbers, weights and grades read the same in every language.
Other EU countries
The same prices and the same camera from every EU member state: WhatsApp for a quote, then your own insured parcel to Dublin, no customs. In the Republic of Ireland the free Bosca Óir comes to your door. Or go straight to gold, silver or jewellery.
